Born 1942 in Boston, Massachusetts. As a child, I drew, painted and made model airplanes. As a teenager, I explored my fascination with the universe by means of my telescope, microscope and chemistry lab. But when I learned that these fields involved mathematics, I became less interested in science and continued my explorations in the arts. |
In the early 1960’s, I studied art in Boston at Boston University Liberal Arts College and at the Vesper George School of Art. |
I spent a lot of time experimenting with various media in two and three dimensional forms: drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture before finally settling on jewelry design as a form of sculpture. |
Primarily self-taught, I have studied with Cuban sculptor Ernesto Gonzalez in Key West, Florida; and Hank Kaminski, formerly of New York, now of Fayetteville, Arkansas. Other influences have included Alexander Calder, Karl Tasha, and Wolfgang Richter. |
Currently I am continuing to evolve as an artist, always developing new designs in jewelry and sculpture. |
My work can be seen at a number of fine galleries and giftshops, and at art festivals all over the country. Over the years I have won numerous awards for my art. |
