We are just a two person business, I do all the cutting, gluing, and the bulk of the sanding, while Jan does all the finish work. We only do 8-10 shows a year as we can only make so many boxes. This means that if all the shows are 3 days long our work is in front of the public for 24-30 days a year. Not a very long time to sell a product, but it seems to have worked for the last 25 years. ( knock on wood ) We live in the Arkansas Ozarks tucked between two rivers and a lake. We are not native to Arkansas, Jan is a Virginia native and I claim California as my home state. We came to the Ozarks in 1980, and have been here since. Jan has been doing shows since 1975 (with her dolls) and I’ve been doing shows since 1982, (thanks to Jan) Jan no longer shows the dolls, but still gets orders thru the year from old customers and referrals. Our handiwork is how we make our living. |
